Veteran MLB reporter Jon Morosi has a little bit of egg on his face.
On Friday afternoon, Morosi went viral when he reported that Ohtani was on a aircraft headed to Toronto days after he reported that the Blue Jays have been a viable choice to land the celebrity ballplayer.
Sources: Shohei Ohtani is en path to Toronto at the moment.
A consultant of his company, CAA, wouldn’t remark when requested about Ohtani’s journey plans.
At this hour, Ohtani doesn’t have a signed settlement with any @MLB staff. @MLBNetwork

Different MLB reporters, together with Bob Nightengale, instantly refuted Morosi’s report on social media, and it was finally revealed that Shark Tank’s Robert Herjavec was within the personal aircraft in query and never Ohtani.
Shohei Ohtani is NOT in Toronto.Ohtani is NOT on a flight to Toronto.Ohtani is at residence in Southern California.

Our CBC photographer Evan Mitsui is messaging me from Pearson Airport proper now.
He confirms new studies that Ohtani was NOT on the personal jet.
It was actually carrying Canadian businessman Robert Herjavec and his household.

After getting crushed on social media over his false report, Morosi issued an apology on his Twitter/X web page.
“Immediately, I posted reporting that included inaccurate info that Shohei Ohtani was touring to Toronto. I remorse the error and apologize to baseball followers in all places. I’m deeply sorry for letting you down.”
