When Chanel forged Kendrick Lamar for its spring-summer 2025 eyewear marketing campaign, the home did greater than appoint a well-recognized face—it positioned a voice of cultural cadence. That intention takes form visually by means of the advert itself. The pictures, lensed by Karim Sadli, body Lamar as each muse and message.
Kendrick Lamar for Chanel
On the coronary heart of the marketing campaign: a pair of oval sun shades that mix lacquered acetate with glass pearls, anchored by Chanel’s gold detailing. The arms, daring and huge, draw the attention to a cluster of spheres—a modular building that evokes bijoux structure of Gabrielle Chanel’s iconic belt designs.
That sculptural strategy continues within the particulars. The interlocking pearls are punctuated by the unmistakable double C, whereas gray polarized gradient lenses add distinction to the dense black body, sharpening its influence.
Kendrick Lamar wears Chanel’s sun shades with a monochrome ensemble, accessorized by a double chain that winks on the rapper’s duality—elevated and grounded, lyrical and linear. With Lamar as home ambassador, Chanel inscribes presence. The eyewear—half decoration, half armor—does what Lamar’s lyrics typically do: body the world, refract the sunshine.
